The Society Publishers’ Coalition (SocPC) is a group of non-profit societies and charities that reinvest their publishing surpluses into the academic communities they serve. Formed in 2018, the coalition seeks to navigate the inevitable global transition to open access by collaborating with researchers, funders, and institutions to develop fair, sustainable business models that protect their long-term viability.

Because member organizations represent diverse disciplines and face varied challenges, they work together to ensure that authors can publish regardless of their ability to pay. Moving forward, SocPC is actively expanding its membership and partnering with other groups to foster an orderly, efficient transition to open scholarship.
