Search Tips

General

The Beilstein Journal of Nanotechnology offers a simple full text search field and an advanced search option. The simple full text search allows searching for one or more search terms or a phrase in the whole article irrespective of its appearance in the title, abstract, main text or elsewhere in the paper. The advanced search option allows the user to search for a word or a phrase explicitly in any of the following search fields:

  • Full Text
  • Authors
  • Title
  • Abstract
  • DOI
  • Keywords
  • Article Type
  • Publication Date

In the advanced search entries in several search fields can be combined to one query. Multiple fields will be linked to form a combined query with the operator "and". Only articles which match all the search terms will be displayed as result of the combined search.
The result of a search, irrespective of the search field used, is a list of articles which contains the search term in the corresponding section.
On the search result page you can select "New Search" to open a new empty advanced search page or "Modify Search" to open the advanced search page showing the latest search terms for modification.
