This thematic issue will cover recent advances in nanoscience and nanotechnology, including the design, synthesis, characterization, and application of nanomaterials across key areas such as nanostructured materials and their physics, bionanotechnology, nanophotonics, physical chemistry of nanomaterials, nanocatalysis, and technological innovation.

This thematic issue is emerging from the Symposium of Nanoscience and Nanomaterials (SNN 2026) in Mexico. However, submissions are welcome from the broader community. This issue follows a previous thematic issue from the SNN 2024, also published in the Beilstein Journal of Nanotechnology , reflecting the high quality of contributions presented at the conference and the sustained engagement of participants and other members of the community.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Nanomaterials for energy conversion and storage
  • Photocatalysis
  • Nanomaterials for environmental remediation and pollutant degradation
  • Nanostructures and their physical properties
  • Nanophotonics and light–matter interactions at the nanoscale
  • Bionanotechnology and bio-related applications
  • Functional nanomaterials and hybrid nanosystems
  • Advanced characterization and modeling of nanomaterials
  • Emerging nanotechnology applications and innovation

Submission deadline: June 30, 2026
