New Early Career Advisory Board Members for the Beilstein Journal of Nanotechnology

News Item

We are pleased to welcome three new Early Career Advisory Board (ECAB) Members for the Beilstein Journal of Nanotechnology.

Omur E. Dagdeviren, École de Technologie Supérieure (ÈTS), Montreal, Canada
Omur focuses on atomic force microscopy (AFM) and time‑resolved scanning probe methods to investigate charge‑carrier dynamics, defect‑mediated processes, and nanoscale energy dissipation. He integrates spatially and temporally resolved measurements with advanced force ‑reconstruction and custom instrumentation to create quantitative AFM techniques that address fundamental challenges in energy materials, photocatalysis, and sustainable material design.

Vini Gautam, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, Karnataka, India
Vini’s main research interests are on neuroengineering, biomaterials, and bioelectronics, blending materials science, device physics, and neuroscience with the aim to develop novel technologies for neural stimulation and interfacing.

Samuel S. Veroneau, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA
Samuel’s graduate work investigated the electrochemistry of water‑splitting catalysts for green hydrogen production. His postdoctoral research, supervised by Prof. Tom Mallouk and Prof. Daniel Mindiola, will focus on exploring reactive nitrogen‑based fuels.

About the Early Career Advisory Board (ECAB)
The initiation of an Early Career Advisory Board (ECAB) was announced in January 2025. The inaugural board consisted of four members:

Thies H. Büscher, Functional Morphology and Biomechanics, Zoological Institute, Kiel University, Germany
Hao Lu, College of Materials Science and Engineering, Beijing University of Technology, Beijing, China
Devleena Samanta, Department of Chemistry, The University of Texas at Austin, Texas, United States
Yui Sasaki, Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo, Japan

As part of the Editorial Board (Executive Board, Associate Editors, Advisory Board and Advisory Editors), the inaugural Early Career Advisory Board works with the Editor-in-Chief, Gerhard Wilde and the other board members to further develop and strengthen the Beilstein Journal of Nanotechnology, increasing its visibility, reach, and inclusiveness toward early-career researchers.
